Background

We were introduced to this project via world renowned fitness equipment manufacturer, Technogym. We were asked to provide a complete flooring solution including extensive sub floor preparation, as well as mirror installation. It was clear from day one that the client had an eye for detail. We relished the challenge and agreed to take the project on.

Consultation Process

The client had invested a substantial amount of money in her gym equipment. The primary objective for her was to create a 5 star environment for her and her family to workout in. 

The first step was to liaise with her builder. We needed to establish what kind of sub floor was installed, and what needed to be done to prepare it. We also consulted with our floor preparation partner, F.Ball & Co, to get their recommendation for sub floor treatment.

Once we had the technical detail in order, we consulted with the client regarding product types and finishes. We recommended Gerflor luxury vinyl planks for the main gym and our XL Connect rubber tile for the weights area. We also had an 8m length of wall that needed bespoke-size mirrors.

Installation Process

The sub floor was an anhydrite screed which needed to be treated with care. We consulted with F.Ball & Co who advised on the best course of action to prepare the slab.

We went ahead with the sub floor preparation which was followed by the installation of the LVT (luxury vinyl tile). We recommended Gerflor's Creation 70 in colour 'Travertino Grey'. We then installed our 20mm XL Connect rubber tile in dark grey.

Finally, we installed our 6mm safety backed mirrors along the back wall of the gym. We had carefully measured the wall to ensure the mirrors fitted perfectly alongside the beautiful Kinesis Personal wall mounted cable machine.

Results

This project, although only small in size, was technically challenging. The results are fantastic- we certainly think this home gym is one of the best we've seen. The client was pleased too. 'thanks for a great professional service'.
