Background
JCCS is part of the Active Leeds group of sport and leisure facilities. We have previously helped transform some of their other centres including Garforth Leisure Centre, so we were invited to help transform John Charles Centre for Sport.

Consultation Process
As part of our consultative process, we carried out a full site survey and consulted with Active Leeds management as well as their key fitness equipment supplier, Technogym.

During our survey, we discovered an old rubber floor under their existing floor! Thankfully we were able to pick up on this obstacle and prepare for the removal.

Installation Process
We had just under 2 weeks to complete this project, but we were able to finish ahead of schedule.

After we removed the old floor, we prepared the subfloor with F.Ball & Co smoothing compound flooring adhesive & floor preparation product. This provided a new smooth and level subfloor for the new floor coverings.

In the main gym, we supplied and installed Gerflor Creation 70 luxury vinyl tile in the colour ‘Portobello’. This will provide a resilient and low-maintenance surface for the cardio and fixed resistance machines.

In the weights area, we supplied and installed our 30mm XL Connect rubber tile in black/grey. This area was finished with functional markings for the Technogym ‘Skill Zone’. Finally, we installed a 2m x 10m green artificial turf track complete with white metre markers.

Results
This was yet another great transformation. The old floors, carpet tiles and sheet rubber were worn and outdated.

The new flooring makes the gym look clean, and modern, and the maintenance is far easier.
